Revised History Poster
My poster is based on the history of horror films and how they have evolved over the years. I used old black and white clips from different horror films over time and presented them in a film strip. This image will let the audience automatically know what my poster is about with out having to read the information. Along side of the film strip I wrote little points about how horror films have evolved, such as the color, and sound that has been added to them over the years. I use emphasis on the title of the poster by making it bold and drippy like. This I think is the first thing that you see. Also, the color is red so it's bold and stands out from the rest of the font. As for the film strip it has been placed to cut the poster in half almost. My poster is prett standard, The font on the right has been aligned witht he film strip in a way it does not over lap. As for the title it's tilted a little and bleeds off the page. The contarst in the poster is between the colors and size of the font. The main font is bold and stands out, and then the subtitles are printed in a smaller font. The colors I used contrast one another, such as the navy blue, red and grey. The poster flows throughout, by dividing it into three sections, the title, main picture, and information. Your eye starts from the top left and then flows to the bottom of the right. The repition has been placed within the information, I used the same color and size headers, and then use the same font underneathe them. The colors that I used were purposley dark ones. I wanted my poster to have an eery, scray feel. For the title I used a blood type red that you would see in horror films today. The background is navy blue, because if I had used black it would have blended in witht he film strip. As for the grey font, it's a sample from the grey that is in the film strip. I think these colors gave the poster the right effect I was looking for, and it turned out great!

Catalog Essay
My design for the BCC catalog displays diversity, and a warm feeling. I wanted to include pictures of people as well as landscape, so students can get an idea of what the school itself looks like as well as what type of people they can expect to see at BCC. My catalog design has incorporated the rule of thirds by creating the images my main focus of the piece. Getting to "know" and the see the college was my main focus for the viewer. You're eye then goes to the BCC logo which was important so people knew what college the catalog was for. Thirdly, the year of the catalog and slogan were made in a smaller font due to it being the part of the catalog that I did not want to emphasize. The principle of emphasis is incorporated into the fonts that I chose and the positioning of the pictures. I created the pictures to be the largest piece on the catalog to catch the viewers attention. I then enlarged the Logo because I thought that was the second focal point. As for alignment, I wanted to create a collage of pictures but did not want it to be too overwhelming, I placed the pictures spereatically but separated them jus enough that they don't collide with one another. I used contrast within the color scheme, yellow, gray and black work against each other in order for the piece to stand out. I also, contrasted the size of the photos. I used balance by placing the pictures in a form in which they all connected I also used small lettering for the piece not just be big and bold all over. As for flow and repetition I used repetition within the pictures, I outlined them all with yellow and for flow, I created the pictures to be speratic so that they lead your eye to the logo and right beneath the logo is the font. The colors I chose, I wanted to be simple and relate to the school itself, which is why I chose the BCC colors. I wanted a bright color to be used as an accent and not to overwhelm the piece.

Counter Forms Project
The types of font I decided to use were, Baveuse for the O's mono type cursiva for the L's, and Tahoma for the E and V. I chose the mono type cursiva because I liked the curve it gave the letters which help made them flow throw the piece of work. The other fonts I chose because they were bold and very to the point, and simple. I really like fonts that are simple. With the o's I chose Baveuse because it was a fun looking font and really made the O's stand out. The fonts I chose contain alot of lines, as well as curves in the monotype cursiva. I wanted the curved font to counteract with the many lines that were in the Tahoma and Baveuse. I really enjoyed using the counter forms, because they made the piece of work stand out more. I also chopped up a lot of the counter forms I used and used the cut out pieces to surround some of the letters. I really tried to incorporate more counter forms than forms because I really enjoyed working with them and cutting pieces out. When working on this piece I had a lot of trouble making it balanced. I kept putting letters on the side which then left an empty middle space. I then started to copy and paste some letters that I liked in order to create balance and repition in the piece. When I did this I made sure that the letters I copied were placed in a certain spot in order to create flow and make your eye wonder from one thing to another in an easy manner. In order to create contrast I used different fonts and different shades from the grey scale. I also used different sizes of the fonts to create contrast.
