Counter Forms Project

The types of font I decided to use were, Baveuse for the O's mono type cursiva for the L's, and Tahoma for the E and V. I chose the mono type cursiva because I liked the curve it gave the letters which help made them flow throw the piece of work. The other fonts I chose because they were bold and very to the point, and simple. I really like fonts that are simple. With the o's I chose Baveuse because it was a fun looking font and really made the O's stand out. The fonts I chose contain alot of lines, as well as curves in the monotype cursiva. I wanted the curved font to counteract with the many lines that were in the Tahoma and Baveuse. I really enjoyed using the counter forms, because they made the piece of work stand out more. I also chopped up a lot of the counter forms I used and used the cut out pieces to surround some of the letters. I really tried to incorporate more counter forms than forms because I really enjoyed working with them and cutting pieces out. When working on this piece I had a lot of trouble making it balanced. I kept putting letters on the side which then left an empty middle space. I then started to copy and paste some letters that I liked in order to create balance and repition in the piece. When I did this I made sure that the letters I copied were placed in a certain spot in order to create flow and make your eye wonder from one thing to another in an easy manner. In order to create contrast I used different fonts and different shades from the grey scale. I also used different sizes of the fonts to create contrast.
